Our commitment

We believe everyone should be able to access information about insolvency procedures and engage with our firm regardless of disability or assistive technology used. Our website is designed and built with accessibility in mind, and we periodically test and update the site to address accessibility issues as they are identified.

We recognise that accessibility is an ongoing commitment rather than a one-time project. Web content, browsers, and assistive technologies evolve — what was accessible last year may need updating this year. We aim to maintain accessibility through periodic audits and prompt remediation of issues.

What we aim for — WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance

Our target conformance level is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This is the standard recommended for professional services websites and is the level expected by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) for non-public-sector organisations under the Equality Act 2010.

WCAG 2.2 Level AA covers a substantial range of accessibility requirements, including:

  • PerceivableText alternatives for images; captions and audio descriptions for video; sufficient colour contrast (4.5:1 for normal text; 3:1 for large text); resizable text up to 200% without loss of functionality.
  • OperableKeyboard navigation for all functionality; clear navigation; sufficient time to read and interact; no content that flashes more than three times per second.
  • UnderstandableLanguage identified in HTML; consistent navigation; clear labels and instructions; predictable interactions.
  • RobustCode that works with current and future assistive technologies; clear semantic structure (proper heading hierarchy, landmarks).

WCAG 2.2 (October 2023) adds additional success criteria beyond WCAG 2.1 — we aim to meet these as well, including improved focus visibility and consistent help mechanisms.

Known accessibility issues

Accessibility is an ongoing commitment rather than a one-time achievement. We test our website for accessibility periodically and address issues as we identify them. We do not currently disclose a specific list of known issues on this page — if you encounter an accessibility barrier on our website, we will investigate and address it as part of our ongoing maintenance.

Our approach reflects the reality that web accessibility is dynamic — browsers, assistive technologies, and content all evolve, and barriers can emerge over time even on websites that have been audited. Rather than publish a static list of issues that quickly becomes outdated, we commit to:

  • Investigating any accessibility barrier reported to us using the routes set out in the Reporting accessibility barriers section below.
  • Responding within 5 working days with an acknowledgement and an indication of the investigation timeline.
  • Addressing content-level barriers (such as missing image alt text or insufficient colour contrast) typically within 30 days of identification.
  • Addressing structural barriers (such as navigation or form-component issues) within a longer timeframe reflecting the redevelopment work involved — typically 60 to 120 days.
  • Updating this section to disclose any persistent or significant barriers we are aware of and the steps being taken to address them.

If we become aware of significant accessibility issues that affect substantial parts of the website, we will disclose them in this section with an indication of expected remediation. As of the date of this Accessibility Statement, no such issues have been formally identified to us.

How we test for accessibility

We test for accessibility using a combination of automated and manual approaches:

  • Automated testing using accessibility audit tools (typical tools include axe DevTools, Lighthouse, WAVE) — we run these at least annually and after any significant site change.
  • Manual testing including keyboard-only navigation, basic screen-reader testing, colour contrast verification, and content readability checks.
  • User feedback — we encourage visitors who encounter barriers to contact us; this informs our remediation priorities.

We do not currently undertake third-party accessibility certification. As a small firm, we balance compliance commitment against the cost of formal certification — our approach is honest disclosure plus prompt remediation rather than perfunctory certification.
